Italian prosecutors have concluded investigations into the tragic drowning of three young people in the Natisone River on May 31, 2024. Three firefighters and an emergency operator face charges of manslaughter due to alleged negligence and procedural errors.
The victims, aged 21 to 25, were caught by a sudden flood while taking photos on a riverbank.
Despite multiple emergency calls, including one pleading for a helicopter, delays in response left them stranded for 41 minutes before the rising waters swept them away.
Investigators claim the emergency teams failed to act promptly, overlooking critical details like the victims' exact location.
The accused now have 20 days to present their defense as the case moves forward.
