A severe weather alert has been issued for the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy, with heavy snowfall expected in several provinces including Piacenza, Parma, and Bologna.
The alert, valid from midnight Saturday through Sunday, warns of potential river flooding, landslides, and strong winds reaching up to 74 km/h.
In response, local authorities have activated a comprehensive snow and ice management plan, deploying 239 vehicles and over 100 personnel to ensure road safety.
Meanwhile, in Piemonte, snow is anticipated from Saturday afternoon, with temperatures dropping significantly due to cold Arctic winds sweeping across Europe.
This cold front is expected to bring snow to low altitudes across several European countries, including Italy, with strong winds and a sharp temperature drop forecasted for the weekend.
Residents are advised to use public transport and avoid parking on public roads to facilitate snow clearance.
