The search for two missing skyrunners, Paolo Bellazzi and Cristian Mauri, ended in tragedy after three days of intense efforts.

The two 49-year-old friends, both experienced mountaineers from Brianza, went missing on February 8 during an excursion on Grignetta mountain.

Despite challenging weather conditions, including heavy snow and poor visibility, rescue teams used advanced technology to locate a phone signal near Canalone Caimi.

However, the harsh environment and avalanche risks delayed ground searches.

Sadly, the two were found deceased, leaving their families and communities in mourning.

Both men were known for their love of the mountains and their close friendship.
