The bodies of two Italian climbers, Andrea Galimberti, 53, and Sara Stefanelli, 41, along with two South Korean climbers, were found lifeless at 4,500 meters on Mont Blanc.
The group had been missing since Saturday, caught in a severe storm near the 'Mur de la Cote,' a steep icy slope leading to the summit.
Their last message to rescuers was a desperate plea for help, stating they were unable to see and feared freezing to death.
Despite rescue efforts, the harsh weather conditions hindered timely assistance.
It is believed they succumbed to hypothermia shortly after their distress call.
The tragic incident highlights the unpredictable dangers of high-altitude climbing.
