Around 300 of the 800 residents displaced from the Vela Celeste in Scampia, a neighborhood in northern Naples, have returned to their homes after thorough technical checks.
The situation for those who remained displaced has been challenging, with many expressing frustration over inadequate temporary accommodations.
One resident lamented, "We were promised beds for the night, but instead, we faced uncertainty and discomfort.
" The Vele, iconic concrete structures, symbolize the complex relationship between architecture and politics, as noted by architect Stefano Boeri, who recalls his first visit to the area in 1994. The ongoing struggles highlight the urgent need for better housing solutions in the region.
