A near-tragedy unfolded on Monte Cusna in the Reggio Emilia Apennines when an avalanche buried four ski mountaineers.
The Emilia-Romagna Alpine Rescue team, already in the area, responded swiftly, saving all four individuals.
Two were partially buried and managed to alert nearby skiers, who called for help and assisted in the rescue.
The other two, completely buried, were located using search devices and pulled out unharmed.
Rescuers provided dry clothing and assessed their health, which was fortunately good.
