A devastating avalanche struck Forcella Giau in the Dolomites, at an altitude of 2,300 meters, engulfing three skiers.
The alarm was raised by a fourth member of the group, who immediately began searching for his companions.
Rescue teams, supported by helicopters, managed to extract two skiers—one conscious and the other in critical condition.
Efforts to locate the third skier are ongoing.
Despite repeated warnings of high avalanche risk in the region, the alert went unheeded.
The incident highlights the dangers of ignoring safety advisories in high-risk areas.
