A tragic incident occurred at the Molino Rosso hotel in Imola, where a five-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool.

The accident happened in the late afternoon while the girl, who was of Albanian descent and lived in a nearby town, was swimming with her mother.

Witnesses reported that the mother was not in the water at the time of the incident.

The pool was approximately 1.2 meters deep, which is not particularly deep.

Lifeguards quickly responded to the emergency, and the girl was rushed by helicopter to Maggiore Hospital in Bologna, where she sadly passed away later that evening.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
