A tragic incident occurred in Spinetoli, a town in the province of Ascoli Piceno, where a three-year-old boy drowned in an irrigation canal.

The child, who was with his family of foreign origin, was reported missing earlier in the day.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, including the 118 medical team, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.

The boy's body was discovered approximately 400 meters from where he was last seen by his family.

An air ambulance was initially dispatched but was later called off as the child had already passed away.

The local fire brigade and carabinieri were alerted by passersby who spotted the boy in the water.
