A tragic accident at a construction site in Genoa has claimed the life of 39-year-old worker Marco Ricci.

Ricci, who had been working on the new ludoteca at Parco del Ponte, fell over 10 meters when a beam gave way.

The site is part of a redevelopment project in memory of the 2018 Morandi Bridge collapse.

Investigations are underway to determine if safety protocols were followed.

The incident has sparked calls for improved safety measures on construction sites, with the Morandi victims' committee urging for thorough investigations and enhanced safety standards.
