A new public and free digital platform for signing online referendums and popular legislative proposals has been launched in Italy.
This initiative, stemming from an amendment by Riccardo Magi, was unanimously approved by political forces and aims to facilitate citizen participation, particularly in the referendum against differentiated autonomy.
The platform, which was expected to be operational since January 2022, is now officially active following its announcement in the Official Gazette.
Magi expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the collaborative efforts with various organizations to make it a reality.
The platform will not only ease the process of gathering signatures but will also eliminate costs previously borne by political parties and associations.
This development opens the door for discussions on various issues, including electoral law reforms and end-of-life regulations.
