In response to persistent air pollution, the Lombardy region in Italy has implemented temporary anti-smog measures across several provinces, including Brescia, Milan, Bergamo, and others.
This decision follows four consecutive days of PM10 levels exceeding safe limits.
Starting November 19, restrictions include a ban on Euro 4 diesel vehicles in towns with over 30,000 residents, a prohibition on using wood biomass heating systems, and a reduction in maximum indoor temperatures to 19°C.
Additionally, outdoor burning and the spreading of livestock manure are banned.
These measures aim to curb pollution and protect public health amid favorable weather conditions for pollutant accumulation.
