Lombardy is bracing for severe weather as the regional Civil Protection has issued multiple alerts for Tuesday, October 8. An orange alert for hydrogeological and hydraulic risks is in place for Milan, with a yellow alert for thunderstorms and strong winds.
Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the day, particularly affecting the central and western regions in the morning and shifting to the eastern plains and hills by afternoon.
The Seveso and Lambro rivers are under close watch, with the Civil Protection's Operational Center actively monitoring water levels.
In response to the forecast, all high schools in Bergamo and surrounding areas will remain closed.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and avoid areas prone to flooding.
