Milan is bracing for heavy rains as a weather disturbance from the Balkans is set to hit the region starting Monday, September 23. The Regional Natural Risk Monitoring Center of Lombardy has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and hydrogeological risks, effective from noon on Monday until midnight, with heightened caution from 2 PM until 6 AM the following day.

Residents are advised to avoid flood-prone areas near the Seveso and Lambro rivers and to steer clear of underpasses, trees, and construction sites.

The Civil Protection's municipal operations center is on standby to monitor the situation and coordinate any necessary interventions.

Citizens are urged to secure loose objects on balconies and be vigilant during outdoor events to prevent accidents.

The intense rainfall is expected to ease by Wednesday.
