Italian authorities have arrested five young individuals of foreign origin in a major anti-terrorism operation.
The suspects, residing in Bologna, Milan, Udine, and Perugia, are accused of forming or supporting a terrorist group linked to Al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
Investigators allege the group was involved in promoting and strengthening these extremist organizations, with plans to radicalize and recruit others.
The arrests followed an investigation led by the Bologna Anti-Terrorism Department, in coordination with the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office.
The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat radicalization and prevent the spread of extremist ideologies in Italy.
