In Potenza, Italy, a 14-year-old boy has been arrested on charges of international terrorism and subversion.

The investigation, led by the juvenile court's prosecutor, revealed the teenager's involvement with pro-Islamic State (IS) activities.

Authorities discovered his participation in an Instagram group supporting IS and ownership of two Telegram groups aimed at gathering IS supporters and promoting the establishment of an IS province in Italy.

The boy was reportedly active in creating and sharing pro-IS content and consuming videos of suicide attacks by minors.

A search ordered by the prosecutor uncovered ammunition and other dangerous materials, leading to his arrest and subsequent transfer to a community facility.
