A 46-year-old woman from Vicenza, Italy, has been arrested for posing as a qualified caregiver and committing a series of crimes against elderly patients.

Paola Pettinà, who falsely claimed to be a healthcare worker, is accused of aggravated murder, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and theft.

Investigators allege she administered overdoses of sedatives to her patients, leading to severe health issues and, in one case, death.

Pettinà reportedly used her charm to gain the trust of families and worked without proper qualifications.

Authorities are also probing pharmacies suspected of illegally supplying her with prescription drugs.
