A tragic fire broke out early on December 31 in a residential building on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in Turin.
The blaze, which started around 4 a.
m.
, claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman, likely due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Her parents, who also lived in the apartment, were injured and taken to the hospital.
The family, originally from the Philippines, lived on the ground floor of the building.
Firefighters suspect the fire may have been caused by a chimney malfunction or a short circuit, though investigations are ongoing.
The entire building has been declared uninhabitable and was evacuated for safety.
