A tragic incident occurred on July 26, 2024, when 19-year-old Giorgio Noris from Fagnano Olona drowned while snorkeling at Cala Girgolu in Sardinia.

Giorgio was swimming with friends when he reportedly suffered a medical emergency.

Despite being in shallow waters, his friends did not notice his absence until other beachgoers alerted them.

After realizing he was missing, they found him floating unconscious about 100 meters from their boat.

Emergency services attempted to revive him, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The mayor of Fagnano Olona, Marco Baroffio, expressed condolences to Giorgio's family, highlighting the community's grief over the loss.
