In Bologna, a political clash erupted during a controversial commemoration of the Foibe tragedy.

Members of Gioventù Nazionale held a torchlit vigil and entered the closed Palazzo d'Accursio to place a wreath, sparking outrage from Mayor Matteo Lepore, who called the act unauthorized and disrespectful.

The mayor announced plans to file a complaint, accusing right-wing facilitators of orchestrating the entry.

Fratelli d’Italia (FdI) leader Galeazzo Bignami denied the accusations, threatening legal action against the mayor for defamation.

Meanwhile, left-wing activists protested nearby, chanting antifascist slogans.

The incident has heightened tensions ahead of further right-wing demonstrations planned for the Giorno del Ricordo.
