Storms Hit Northern Italy, Relief Ahead

Published: 2024-10-10

Northern Italy is currently experiencing severe weather due to a deep cyclonic vortex influenced by the remnants of Hurricane Kirk.

Regions like Liguria, Lombardy, and the Alpine areas are facing intense rain and thunderstorms.

The Italian Civil Protection Department has issued weather alerts, including a red alert for parts of Lombardy.

However, the situation is expected to improve by the weekend as an anticyclonic ridge from Africa brings more stable and sunny conditions.

Southern Italy remains mostly dry, with only isolated showers.

Temperatures are set to rise across the country as the weather stabilizes.
