Northern Italy is grappling with severe weather conditions as a late-summer storm unleashes flash floods and heavy downpours across the region.
The areas most affected include Valle d'Aosta, Piemonte, and Liguria, with several valleys submerged and rivers overflowing.
The situation is particularly dire in Cogne, Valle d'Aosta, which has been isolated due to the floods.
Authorities have issued a red alert in Veneto, while regions like Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Lombardia, Piemonte, and Toscana are under an orange alert.
The storm has also brought downburst winds reaching speeds of 90-100 km/h, causing temperatures to plummet by up to 10°C.
Residents are urged to exercise caution as the adverse weather is expected to persist throughout the day.
