Authorities in Brescia have dismantled a major criminal network linked to the 'Ndrangheta mafia.

Six individuals were arrested for orchestrating a kidnapping and extortion scheme that defrauded an entrepreneur of over €1.5 million.

Investigations revealed a broader system of financial crimes, including €250 million in tax evasion through fake invoices and illegal labor operations in the construction sector.

Over €27 million in assets were seized, and nine professionals face restrictions for their involvement.

The operation, involving 200 officers and advanced technology, highlights the mafia's deep infiltration into the economy.
