Italy's Justice Minister Carlo Nordio has survived a no-confidence vote in Parliament, with 215 votes against and 119 in favor.
The motion, led by opposition parties, criticized Nordio's handling of the case involving Libyan General Almasri, accused of crimes against humanity.
Almasri was arrested in Italy but later released and returned to Libya.
Nordio defended his actions, blaming procedural issues and accusing critics of using exaggerated rhetoric to block judicial reforms.
Opposition leaders called his defense "shameful," while Nordio vowed to push forward with reforms despite the controversy.
The vote highlighted divisions within the government, with notable absences from the ruling coalition during the session.
