A shocking homophobic attack occurred in Milan's Barona district late Saturday night.

Ivano Cipollaro, a 45-year-old nurse, and his partner Alfredo were walking home hand in hand when a group of five men began hurling insults at them.

The situation escalated when Cipollaro responded, leading to one of the men punching him in the head.

Cipollaro was hospitalized overnight for observation due to concerns about a head injury but has since been discharged.

The attackers fled the scene, and Cipollaro plans to file a complaint against unknown assailants.
