Cesare Parodi, 62, has been elected as the new president of the National Magistrates Association (ANM) in Italy.
A member of the conservative Magistratura Indipendente, Parodi secured the position after a challenging negotiation among various factions.
With over three decades of experience, he currently serves as deputy prosecutor in Turin, leading efforts to address issues like violence against women.
Parodi emphasized unity within the ANM and called for collective action on judicial reforms and systemic inefficiencies.
He confirmed the magistrates' strike planned for February 27, urging the government to reconsider its proposed justice reforms.
