Four German tourists were poisoned by carbon monoxide in a villa in Cefalù, Sicily.
Tragically, 36-year-old Jonathan Feierabend lost his life, while three others, aged 34, 60, and 63, remain in critical condition.
The victims were found after one of the survivors raised the alarm before collapsing.
Firefighters discovered the villa’s fireplace still full of smoke, likely the source of the deadly fumes.
The survivors are receiving hyperbaric treatment in local hospitals.
Authorities are investigating the incident, ruling out the boiler as a cause.
