Three tourists from Gravina di Puglia were severely injured in a gas explosion at a house in Porto Cesareo, Lecce, last night.
The victims, a 58-year-old man, his 23-year-old daughter, and her 24-year-old boyfriend, suffered burns and are currently hospitalized in Brindisi and Bari.
The explosion occurred around 1 AM, likely triggered when the victims turned on a light after detecting a gas leak.
Firefighters quickly responded, extinguishing the fire and securing the area.
The gas system of the apartment on Via Dei Bacini has been seized for investigation.
Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the leak.
