Published: 2025-02-11

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the northern Croatian coast near Zadar at 6:43 PM local time.

The tremor, originating at a depth of 10 kilometers, was felt strongly in Croatia and across parts of Italy, including Ancona, Venice, and Trieste.

Residents reported shaking walls and moving furniture, but no injuries or structural damage have been reported.

The quake caused alarm, with people rushing into the streets, but the situation remains under control.

This seismic activity follows a series of tremors recently observed in the region, including the Greek island of Santorini.
