A luxury yacht, the Bayesian, sank off the coast of Porticello near Palermo, leaving six people missing, including prominent figures such as Mike Lynch, a British tycoon, and Jonathan Bloomer, President of Morgan Stanley International.

The yacht, known for its towering 75-meter aluminum mast, was caught in a sudden waterspout, causing it to capsize and sink.

Despite rescue efforts, only 15 of the 22 people on board were saved, with the body of the ship's cook, Ricardo Tomas, recovered.

Rescue divers face significant challenges due to the yacht's depth of 50 meters and the complex interior layout.
