Search efforts are ongoing for a 51-year-old German tourist who disappeared in Lake Como after diving in to rescue his 12-year-old son.

The incident occurred near Dongo, Gravedona, and Colico when the boy was seen struggling in the water.

Witnesses reported that the father jumped in but did not resurface.

The son was rescued by passengers from another boat, who alerted authorities.

Rescue teams, including the Coast Guard and firefighters, are using helicopters and divers to search the area.

This tragedy follows a similar incident just a week prior, where a 22-year-old English student drowned under comparable circumstances.

The family of the missing man is receiving psychological support as the search continues.
