Eighteen years after the murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco, new developments have reignited public interest in the case.
Andrea Sempio, a friend of Chiara's brother, has been placed under investigation after DNA traces linked to him were reportedly found on the victim.
Sempio, who denies any involvement, has spoken publicly for the first time, asserting his innocence and welcoming further investigations to clear his name.
The case, which previously led to the conviction of Chiara's ex-boyfriend Alberto Stasi, has been marred by conflicting testimonies and unexamined evidence.
Sempio argues that his DNA presence is explainable due to his frequent visits to the Poggi household.
Meanwhile, Chiara's family continues to seek justice, as the case remains a focal point of media and public scrutiny.
