Italy has officially recognized its culinary arts as a vital part of its cultural heritage.

On April 2, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni awarded the title of "Maestro of Italian Culinary Arts" to eight outstanding professionals in a ceremony at Palazzo Chigi.

This new honor, established by the Massari Law in 2024, celebrates excellence in fields like cooking, pastry, winemaking, and more.

Recipients, including renowned chef Massimo Bottura and pastry legend Iginio Massari, were chosen for their contributions to Italian gastronomy.

The award not only acknowledges their achievements but also enables them to teach in specialized institutions, passing their expertise to future generations.

The initiative highlights Italy's commitment to preserving and promoting its rich culinary traditions.
