Italy's Supreme Court has rejected the final appeal for a retrial in the infamous Erba massacre case.

Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi, convicted of the 2006 killings of four people, including a two-year-old child, will remain imprisoned for life.

The court dismissed claims of new evidence, stating they did not undermine the original verdict based on confessions, witness testimony, and forensic evidence.

The defense, expressing disappointment, hinted at a possible appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
