The European Court of Justice has postponed its decision on the legality of Italy's migrant centers in Albania.
The case, which questions whether certain countries can be deemed "safe" for rapid deportations, will see further arguments on April 10. The centers, criticized for inadequate legal protections and poor conditions, have sparked controversy among human rights groups.
These organizations argue that the centers violate asylum seekers' rights, with migrants facing prolonged detention and limited access to legal aid.
The court's final ruling, expected by mid-2024, could reshape Italy's migration policies and its controversial agreement with Albania.
