A 26-year-old woman from Alba was saved by an urgent liver transplant after suffering from heatstroke, which caused her body temperature to soar to 41 degrees Celsius.
Found unconscious by her family, she was initially treated at Verduno Hospital, where doctors stabilized her condition but could not save her liver.
Transferred to the Molinette Hospital in Turin, she was placed on the national transplant waiting list due to the severity of her liver failure.
Miraculously, a compatible liver became available just hours later, allowing for a successful eight-hour transplant surgery.
Now, just four days post-surgery, her condition is improving, showcasing the exceptional skill of the medical team and the importance of timely intervention in life-threatening situations.
