The driver, a 55-year-old man, reportedly lost control of the vehicle, possibly due to a medical emergency, and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Among the victims, a 30-year-old Swiss man named Stefan Ott suffered severe injuries and later died at Niguarda Hospital after losing a limb.
