Workers at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d’Arco are protesting due to the company's decision not to renew a contract with logistics firm Trasnova, risking 400 jobs.
The protest, which began early this morning, has seen workers blocking the plant's entrance, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Union representatives and local politicians, including Marco Sarracino (Pd) and Alessandro Caramiello (M5S), have joined the workers in solidarity.
This unrest follows the recent resignation of Stellantis CEO Carlo Tavares and adds to the company's ongoing challenges, including a halted gigafactory project in Termoli.
The Termoli plant is also facing a production stop over the holiday period, with workers on temporary layoff schemes.
The situation highlights the broader uncertainty and industrial challenges facing Stellantis in Italy.
