A significant weather disturbance from the North Atlantic is set to impact the North-Western regions of Italy on Sunday, July 21. The Civil Protection Agency has issued a warning for unstable conditions, predicting scattered thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, particularly in Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, and Lombardy.
These storms may bring intense downpours, lightning, hail, and strong winds, leading to a yellow alert in several areas.
Following this weather event, the oppressive heat is expected to subside as the African anticyclone Caronte retreats, making way for a cooler Azzorre anticyclone.
This shift will bring a refreshing Maestrale wind, resulting in a less humid climate across Italy, even during the night.
