A severe storm hit the Lombardy region, causing significant disruptions at Malpensa Airport.
Heavy rain and hail led to water infiltrations in Terminal 1 and the closure of the state road 336. As a result, 27 flights were diverted to other airports, including Venice, Turin, Bergamo, and Linate.
The storm also caused flooding in nearby areas such as Gavirate and Brescia, with emergency services responding to numerous calls for assistance.
The situation at Malpensa returned to normal after about an hour, but further weather warnings have been issued for the region.
