Rome Prosecutor Faces Secrecy Allegations

The chief prosecutor of Rome, Francesco Lo Voi, is under scrutiny for allegedly sharing classified intelligence documents with journalists.

The controversy stems from an investigation into Gaetano Caputi, a top aide to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which involved intelligence agency AISI accessing a government database.

Lo Voi claims the documents lacked secrecy markings and were shared to ensure transparency for the accused journalists.

However, the Department of Security (DIS) argues this violated laws on handling classified information.

The case has sparked political tensions, with Lo Voi defending his actions as lawful and hinting at possible legal countermeasures.

The matter is now under review by the Perugia prosecutor's office.
