A priest from Sant'Agata de' Goti, a medieval town in Benevento, has been arrested as part of a sweeping investigation into online pedopornography led by the Turin Prosecutor's Office.

The operation, named "La Croix," involved 33 search warrants across Italy, resulting in three arrests and 29 individuals being charged.

The priest, known in his community, was initially placed under house arrest but later released with an obligation to report regularly to authorities.

This investigation, ongoing for over six months, has uncovered a network of individuals exchanging illicit material, including professionals, students, and even a member of the police force.
