In a dramatic turn of events, Italian police have dismantled a notorious gang in Naples that used underground tunnels to carry out a series of daring robberies.
The group, known for their "hole-in-the-wall" technique, targeted a KFC outlet and a tobacco shop, making off with a total of nearly 48,200 euros.
Their next targets were a post office and a bank, but law enforcement intervened just in time.
The investigation, which began last November, uncovered a network of tunnels near sewer access points, leading to the arrest of six individuals.
These tunnels were meticulously planned to facilitate their heists, with a rented depot serving as their logistical base.
The arrests mark a significant victory against organized crime in the region.
