Naples' Chief Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri has raised alarms over the dire state of resources in the fight against organized crime.

Since taking office in October 2023, Gratteri's team has achieved significant results, including reducing case backlogs and securing numerous arrests.

However, he warns that staff shortages and inadequate tools, such as surveillance cameras and anti-drone technology in prisons, threaten future progress.

Gratteri highlighted the growing involvement of minors in organized crime and the advanced technological capabilities of the Camorra, including dark web operations.

He called for specialized personnel and better infrastructure to combat these challenges.

Gratteri also criticized the lack of national support, emphasizing that Naples cannot be treated like smaller cities due to its unique challenges.
