Maria Rosaria Boccia, a businesswoman from Pompei, has made serious allegations against Italy's Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano.
In an interview with La Stampa, Boccia claimed that Sangiuliano is being blackmailed over favors granted.
She detailed her close professional relationship with the minister, accompanying him on long trips as an advisor for major events.
Boccia also mentioned that her consultancy for the G7 was unpaid.
The minister, who has acknowledged a personal relationship with Boccia, is reportedly considering legal action.
Despite the controversy, Sangiuliano intends to remain in his position.
