Tens of thousands gathered in Rome for a rally organized by the Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) to protest against European rearmament plans.
The event, which began with a march from Piazza Vittorio to the Fori Imperiali, saw participation from over 80,000 people, with organizers hoping to surpass 100,000. M5S leader Giuseppe Conte described the turnout as a significant step towards building a solid alternative government.
The Democratic Party (PD) also sent a delegation, emphasizing shared opposition to rearmament while acknowledging differences on other issues.
The rally featured speeches from key M5S figures and showcased banners promoting peace and unity, including messages like "The Russian people are not my enemy.
" This event marks a critical moment for M5S as they aim to consolidate their position in Italian politics.
