Jannik Sinner, the world number one tennis player, has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming Paris Olympics due to a diagnosis of tonsillitis.
After a week of training, Sinner began feeling unwell and was advised by his medical team to withdraw from the Games.
Expressing his disappointment, Sinner stated, "I am extremely sad and disappointed.
Participating in the Olympics was one of my main goals for this season.
" He hopes to compete in future Olympic events and plans to focus on recovering his health.
Sinner's absence marks a significant loss for the Italian team, as he was expected to be a key competitor.
The tennis star now shifts his focus to the upcoming US Open later this summer.
