Emilia-Romagna is on high alert as heavy rains are expected to hit the region later this week, raising concerns of potential flooding.
The eastern part of the region, still recovering from the recent floods of September 18-19, is particularly vulnerable.
The Civil Protection Agency has issued an orange alert for Thursday, October 3, warning of thunderstorms, river flooding, and landslides, especially in the central-eastern Apennines and the Romagna plains.
Rainfall could reach up to 100 mm in 24-36 hours, with strong winds and rough seas also anticipated.
Emergency measures are being implemented, including reinforcing weakened riverbanks, to mitigate the risk of new floods.
