Brescia Sees Rise in Cybercrime and Violence

Published: 2024-09-16

The province of Brescia has seen a rise in reported crimes, according to the latest annual ranking by Sole 24 Ore.

Brescia now ranks 34th, dropping from 39th last year, with a notable increase in sexual violence cases, intentional injuries, and especially cyber frauds, which have reached 6,733 incidents.

Despite this, there has been a decrease in reports of prostitution exploitation, child pornography, thefts, and robberies.

The province maintains an unenviable lead in cybercrime across Italy.

This marks the first increase in reported crimes since 2013, highlighting a growing concern for local authorities.
