A five-year-old boy was attacked by a Rottweiler while riding his bicycle with his mother in Bevagna, Italy.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening when the dog jumped over its fence and lunged at the child, biting him multiple times.

Neighbors, alerted by the mother's screams, quickly intervened to pull the dog away from the boy.

An ambulance arrived shortly after and transported the child to the hospital in Foligno, where he is currently in serious but stable condition.

Local police are investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses to determine the dog's owner and any potential negligence regarding the dog's containment.
